A gorgeous example of a Roman zoomorphic fly brooch. An interesting derivative of the trumpet brooch, the head of the brooch retaining its trumpet form, the flat bow having evolved into a fly. The Insect’s form is comprised of two blue wings, a pearly white body, and a moulded head with bulging eyes. The brooch is in excellent condition, with full enamel and an even, green patina. As usual the pin is missing.
