BRONZE CELTIC "BUTTON & LOOP" CLOAK FASTENER.
£195.00
A very beautiful Celtic bronze ‘button & loop’ cloak fastener or toggle, dating to the 1st Century AD. The shank takes the form of a stylised eye, with the terminal in the form of a torc. This exquisite piece exemplifies the high quality craftsmanship typical of Celtic art of this period. Found by metal detectorist in Norfolk, it is quite possible that this piece belonged to a member of the Iceni tribe.
