An excellent example of this interesting issue, nicely toned with good detail. The unusual obverse records the surrender in 62 BC of Aretas III, King of the Nabataean Arabs, to Scaurus himself. Significantly, this coin is the first instance of a moneyer publicising an event from this own career on the Roman coinage.
