A beautiful silver antoninianus of Philip I struck in Rome circa AD 244-247. The reverse depicts Roma Victrix seated, a shield by her side, a spear in her left hand, and a figure of Victory in her right. The accompanying legend reads ROMAE AETERNAE (To Eternal Rome). A superb, near mint condition example with sharp details and attractive toning.
