Reverse: CONGIAR P R S C, Nerva, seated right on platform, a second platform before him on which attendant is seated, distributing largesse to citizen who mounts steps of platform, statues of Minerva and Liberalitas standing left on pedestals in background.

This extremely rare reverse type is a revival of a Neronian type issued 32 years earlier, depicting a typical and well-detailed scene of Imperial largesse to the people of Rome: each man is said to have received 75 denarii on this occasion - roughly equivalent to 3 months pay for the average citizen!
