An excellent coin with a detailed portrait of the young Marcus Aurelius as Caesar, just 23 when this coin was struck. Known as the last of the "Five Good Emperors" as well as a writer and philosopher, his 'Meditations' are regarded by some as being amongst the greatest works of Western Philosophy. This coin displays an exquisite patina with areas of bluish crystallisation.
