A superb billon centenionalis of Crispus, eldest son of Constantine the Great. This coin was struck in Trier – Crispus' power-base in AD 323-324. The reverse inscription VOT X is an abbreviation of Votis Decennalibus - vows (prayers) for ten years of rule. In the same year this coin was struck Crispus defeated the navy of Licinius I at the Battle of the Hellespont, which, coupled with the land Battle of Chrysopolis won by Constantine forced the resignation of Licinius and his son. A fantastically detailed example with much incipient silvering remaining.
