A beautiful Roman bronze and enamel brooch, in the form of an eight petalled flower. Each petal emerges from the protruding central boss, and has an eye-shaped cell inlaid with blue and red enamel, and has circular terminals with an inlaid disk of red, blue, or green enamel. This rare brooch was discovered by metal detectorist in France. Pin missing, otherwise in excellent condition with a hard glossy patina, and all of the enamel remaining.
