A very beautiful example of this classic ancient coin struck in Lycia during the reign of Mithrapata, circa 390–370 BC. The obverse has an interesting image of lion's scalp. Mithrapata is named in the Lycian legend on the reverse which also has a beautiful depiction of a dolphin. A superb coin with attractive cabinet toning.
